Types of Massage
Deep Tissue: I am 6’4”, 240lbs and I exercise regularly to maintain my legs, back, neck, shoulders, arms, and hand strength. I treat myself like an athlete so I can provide the most efficient and helpful pressure while working out deep knots and trigger points on you. My deep tissue technique is a combination of styles. I like to find the knots and work them out with straight on force, but I also realize there are a number of ways to help move the muscle through the relaxation process to it’s final release. For example, I might begin by pushing and pulling energy into and out of the muscle with focused intention and then use sustained deep pressure to finally “squish” the knot or I might use a combination of techniques from Myofascial Release (MFR) to Shiatsu then work out the muscle with deep tissue pressure and end with energy work. My approach changes with every client and I consistently work hard to follow my instincts and intuition in every session. Just so you know, I refrain from over working and bruising muscles by keeping open dialog with my client, checking as I go and always feeling, listening, and watching for any sign of discomfort within the client. I want the best for you.
Relaxation: One of my most favorite services. My relaxation massage incorporates long, flowing, moderately deep strokes, with warm positive energy exuding from my hands. I’ve been told many times after a session, “I feel like I’m in a trance” or “on a cloud” and I love these sessions most, because for some reason, I feel the same way.
Advanced Stretching: Its not just for athletes. When you think about it any kind massage is essentially stretching the body and its wonderful for you. I use MET Stretches in combination with many stretches I have devised to comfortably and completely loosen up the tightest muscles. Advanced Stretching is for primarily for athletes, but people with, injuries, general soreness, and workout soreness, benefit greatly also. After a 60 min session you will feel very relaxed and will have definite increases in overall range of motion, pain levels will either decrease significantly or all together, the body will feel warm, because of increased blood circulation and your mind will feel awake and clear. The muscles stretched are: neck, chest and shoulders, upper and lower back, hips (glutes, adductors, abductors), hamstrings, quads, calves, complete forearm, hands, biceps and triceps. This is a full body stretchout. You will be completely happy with this service, guaranteed. Wear work out clothing.
Energy Work: All massage around the world incorporates energy work. E=MC^2, we are energy bodies. I know we have our own energy fields, meridian lines, auras, and grids. Any item or body that comes within range of you or I, is actively affecting, good or bad, our energies. Think of the Earth, with its gravitational field, electromagnetic fields and multiple layers to its atmosphere, it is always interacting with other outside forces. I believe that we are very similar. When I work with people, not all the time, but quite often, I feel or see something within or on them. Depending on the person, I can feel a heaviness or muddy, hot or cold feeling when moving across troublesome areas of the body and often times I will see little flashes of energy on the skin. Whenever I experience these things, I give 100% attention to the area until it subsides, usually within a couple minutes. We are intellectual, conversant, observant, and organized beings and it is part of life to consciously participate with our own energy.
